Kansas City Automotive Museum Tour

Saturday September 20th, 34 members of CCKC, 20 corvettes and 1 early 1935 red corvette prototype convened at the Kansas City Auto Museum for a tour of their exhibit of automobiles and a history lesson about the automobile and Kansas City. We learned that in the 1930’s Kansas City had a Hupmobile dealership and about how the early automobile buyers were afraid of the internal combustion engine and preferred the steam engine. A 1909 Ford Model T was observed that the Museum staff thought was assembled in Kansas City. The corvette brand was represented by one Callaway Twin Turbo with a nitrous bottle hidden in the trunk. Following the Museum tour the group adjourned to Granite City Brewery for a meal and lots of corvette war stories.
